Sit in simple crossed legs (sukhasana) with the right leg in front of the left.. Place a blanket under the sitting bones to lift the hips, making your seat more comfortable.
EXHALE, placing the right to the right and behind
the right hip. Draw the right shoulder and shoulder blade back,
beginning the twist.
INHALE, raising the left arm to the sky, creating space in the left
side body.
EXHALE, placing the left hand onto the right
knee.
INHALE, turn the chin to the front at lengthen the
spine. The collar bones will broaden and the chest will expand.
EXHALE, turn the chin towards the right,
completing the twist.
Take several ujjayi breaths here, wringing tension out of the spine
and massaging the internal organs.
INHALE, releasing the twist and returning to
center.
Switch the cross of the legs and repeat these steps on the other
side.
